Cheltenham Borough Council
We would like to thank the staff at Cheltenham Borough Council in the UK for holding an office fundraiser and donating FRW 100,000 to Tabara Africa.

This helped to pay for the start-up costs and registration fees that allowed us to become a fully registered local Rwandan NGO in March 2009.

Westwood Collegiate
Thanks go to all of the students and staff at Westwood Collegiate in Canada for their contribution of FRW 545,000 which allowed us to pay basic medical insurance (mutuelle santé) for our members in 2009.

This will ensure medical treatment for single parent families in Kigali for the next year.

US Embassy Kigali

We are extremely excited to be working with the American Embassy in Kigali on a social enterprise project for single parents. With the backing of their Self-Help Fund, we will be training parents to make papier-mâché piggy banks and sew make-up bags that we can sell through our shop.

This is our first partnership with a grant-giving donor and we are really proud to have been successful.

Accounting for International Development

We would like to extend our thanks to this organisation for their support in helping to increase our financial management capacity through international volunteering.

Between January and February 2010 we will receive direct help from Jackie Massey, an experienced Chartered Accountant who will help us to put in place stronger financial systems and increase the skill level of our volunteers.
