Amahoro Peace Weekend
On Saturday 23rd May 2009, Tabara attended its first major public event as part of Amahoro Peace Weekend, part of the international campaign to End Violence Against Women and Children.

The event began at 8am with marquees outside the main gates of Amahoro ('Peace') stadium in Kigali. It was the first unveiling of the new banner and our information leaflets.
Many fellow NGOs attended including:
- FACT, who provide a free hotline (3232 during office hours) and counselling service for victims of domestic violence and mental abuse.
- Women for Women who help to set-up work co-operatives and train in hand-crafts.
- Indego Africa, who support local work co-operatives to sell their crafts nationally and internationally.
It was an excellent opportunity for us to get to know these organisations and the people working for them, and to think about ways in which we can work together in the future.
We'd like to extend our thanks to Mark Larsen for making the day possible.
